Under the theme of “the sky is the limit” the KSA pavilion at Expo 2020 acts as a window into the nation’s aspiring future, inviting guests to explore natural landscapes.
The state-of-the-art building fuses architecture with digital technology and has been awarded LEED version 4 Platinum rating from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) – the highest internationally recognised sustainability rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
The pavilion is the second largest pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai with a total area of 13,059 m2, as well as features the largest interactive lighting floor with around 8,000 LED lights.
Brought to life by ALEC, Micka Associates and a collective of Saudi artists, the pavilion features numerous interactive rooms, one of which is the Vision space- a giant, multi-faceted 30m diameter globe with an interactive floor taking visitors on an audio-visual journey through the kingdom’s creative scene.

Boris Micka, founder of Micka Associates commented: “We wanted to show how hospitable the Kingdom is and how open for visitors it has become, therefore creating a space such as the interactive plaza in front of the pavilion.”
Darren Burke, senior contract manager at ALEC mentioned: “Although the building is very beautiful it is very complex. The supply chain was fully supportive.”
Additionally, digital displays take visitors through the country’s latest offerings, including the Red Sea tourism project, the smart city NEOM and the entertainment city Qiddiya.
Commenting on the gigaproject, Eng Hussain Hunbazaza, Commissioner General of KSA Pavilion, said: “The pavilion offers rich and varied content, activities and programs covering the economy, development and culture, including businessmen and investors.”
Burke concluded the interview by saying: “Visitors should come and visit the amazing facility. We thoroughly enjoyed the journey as a business and as a team with all of our stakeholders.”
