The compilation process involved reaching out to domestic contractors within the kingdom and distributing a questionnaire focusing on four key criteria: notable achievements in the past 12 months, projects completed within the 2023-2024 timeframe, current backlogs, and 2023 revenue.

Subsequently, the editorial team meticulously curated the gathered data, leveraging publicly available information and their own expertise to identify the most dynamic construction firms in the kingdom, culminating in the final rankings.

The company’s project portfolio, valued at nearly $1.6 bn (SAR 6.2 bn), spans critical infrastructure developments and site preparations for major clients like NEOM, Aramco, NPCC, and RCJY, reflecting its vital role in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious growth.

Scope of work for the projects include   early works, site preparation, as well as infrastructure works. This and other significant contracts awarded in 2023, like NEOM’s OXAGON Village and Diriyah Gate’s King Khalid Road Diversion, underscore UNIMAC’s capability to execute large-scale, high-value projects.

18. Al-Rashid Trading and Contracting Company (RTCC)

Established in 1957, Al-Rashid Trading and Contracting Company (RTCC) holds a distinguished position as a leading general contractor in Saudi Arabia.

With an impressive clientele including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saudi Railways, the Ministry of Finance, and the Public Investment Fund, RTCC is renowned for its comprehensive capabilities.

The company boasts expertise across all major trades, categorising its projects into three primary sectors: Building Sector (spanning residential, healthcare, educational, and commercial projects); Water Sector (encompassing water transmission, pipelines, and refinement); and Railway Sector.

19. Shibh Al Jazira Contracting Company

Climbing three spots from last year, Shibh Al Jazira Contracting Company (SAJCO) has become a leader in its industry, securing major and principal contracts for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, tunnels, underpasses, dams, sewage and water-supply networks, dewatering, water and fuel strategic reservoirs, and piling works.

SAJCO is also a long-standing name in the manufacturing field, supplying pre-cast concrete units, aggregates, asphalt, concrete mixes and all types of tiles, of high and strict standards.

By being dedicated to diligent and efficient performance, SAJCO has achieved the successful handover of chief private and governmental projects. SAJCO was an essential contractor for the following projects: Taibah University, University of Hail, Maraba Dam, Al Qassim and Hail Highway Road, the construction of main roads in Madina, and others.

SAJCO was awarded two contracts from Qiddiya, the latest relate to constructing storm-water drainage, roads and bridges as part of a $186.4 million, three-year contract, involving a 6.5 million cu m excavation to complete the work, which is set for a handover by May 2023 utilising the skills of over 1000 workers.

20. Saudi Pan Kingdom Company (SAPAC)

Throughout 2022-2023, SAPAC has collaborated with esteemed entities such as NEOM, Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), Royal Commission for Riyadh City, The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), AMAALA, Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), Ministry of Housing, and Saudi Aramco, among others.

Presently, SAPAC operates through more than 16 branches nationwide, strategically located in key cities including Riyadh, Arar, Hafer-aI-Batin, Tabouk, Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu, and Eastern Province.

Additionally, the company has established dedicated production units for asphalt and cement industries across different regions to bolster its construction operations and further solidify its position as a leading construction entity in the kingdom.

21. Al Rajhi Building & Constructions

Established nearly twenty years ago, Al-Rajhi Building & Constructions has leveraged its resources, expertise, and personnel to undertake various engineering projects in the kingdom. With a proven track record, Al-Rajhi has seamlessly navigated dealings with numerous departments, agencies, ministries, banks, and both governmental and non-governmental entities.

Established in 2008 as a Saudi-Turkish partnership, Saudi Arabian Baytur Construction Company transitioned to being fully Saudi-owned in 2016. The company specialises in delivering high-quality construction, installation, and maintenance services across various sectors including civil construction (such as high-rises, residential, commercial, educational, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and cultural buildings), airports, and other infrastructure projects.

Renowned as a Grade-A contractor in the kingdom, Saudi Arabian Baytur Construction Company has earned a reputation for its specialised expertise and commitment to excellence.

In 2022-2023, the company secured a contract from Umm Al Qura for Development & Construction Co to contribute to the construction of part of its Masar mixed-use development in Makkah. Subsequently, it formed a strategic alliance with FullStack Modular, a specialist firm known for its expertise in designing, manufacturing, and constructing mid- and high-rise modular buildings in urban settings.

This alliance aims to jointly pursue opportunities aligned with Vision 2030, with a particular focus on large-scale hospitality and urban tourism development initiatives.

23. Saudi Real Estate Infrastructure Company (Binyah)

Making its mark in early 2017, Saudi Real Estate Infrastructure Company (Binyah) emerged as a subsidiary of Tadawul-listed Saudi Real Estate Company (Al Akaria), owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) holding 60% of shares, with a market capitalisation of $1.2 million (SAR4.5 million).

Renowned for its pioneering role in infrastructure development, Binyah specialises in a wide spectrum of projects including roads, bridges, tunnels, oil and gas pipelines, water distribution stations, sewage systems, port docks, and demolition. Some notable road and infrastructure projects completed by Binyah include the Golf Course Early Works at Wadi Safar for Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and the Designing and Building Coastal Inland Roads as part of the Wadi Protection Project for the Red Sea Development Company.

In early February last year, Al Akaria announced Binyah’s involvement in the design and construction of the Northern Cultural District’s P3 car park, a project valued at $145 million covering an expansive area of 100,000 m2 for the Diriyah Gate Company. This follows a previous contract worth $99.5 million for executing enabling works at the DG II area.

24. Red Sea International Company

With over four decades of experience in the global contracting market, Red Sea International, a joint-stock company headquartered in Jeddah with a market capitalisation of $207.7 million, stands as a comprehensive housing solutions provider.

Renowned as a leading name in the modular contracting industry, the company has solidified its position by offering building solutions through its three primary divisions: Industrial Housing, Building Materials Solutions, and Affordable Housing. Operating across more than 65 countries, Red Sea International serves various sectors including oil and gas, mining, and power.

Under the leadership of Chairman Amr Al Dabbagh, the company employs over 1,000 individuals locally and across its numerous subsidiaries worldwide.

Most recently, Red Sea International Company has signed a contract worth $7.76 million (SR29.1 million) with The Fundamental Installation for Electric Work Company (First Fix) to design, manufacture, supply and install prefabricated buildings for a residential project in Saudi futuristic city NEOM.

25. ABV Rock Group

ABV Rock Group Company Limited traces its roots back to Armerad Betong Vägförbättringar, founded in Sweden in 1918. In 1974, ABV expanded its operations to Saudi Arabia, establishing a branch with its main office in Jeddah and a branch in Yanbu.

During the mid-1980s, the Saudi Arabian government initiated a nationwide Strategic Storage Program, for which ABV Rock Group was contracted. The Saudi Strategic Storage Program (SSSP) began in 1987 and concluded 22 years later in 2010, marking the completion and handover of the project.

Some of its most notable projects include Prince Salman Centre, King Fahd Cardio Surgery & Disease Centre, Hilton 5-star residential suites, Al Faisal University, Security Forces Medical Centre, and King Khaled University Hospital Expansion.

26. Makkah Construction and Development Company

Established in 1988 with an initial capital of US$360.6 million, later increased to $438.7 million, Makkah Construction and Development Company has been dedicated to enhancing the areas surrounding the Makkah Holy Mosque. The company’s objectives include owning, developing, operating, and investing in real estate around the Mosque. It is entrusted with carrying out all engineering, surveying, demolition, and construction work for its projects.

Currently, the company is engaged in the construction of the first Commercial and Residential complex situated in the vicinity of the Makkah Holy Mosque. This complex comprises a commercial centre, a prayer hall accommodating 20,000 people, towers, and a hotel.

Moreover, Makkah Construction and Development Company holds the largest share in Jabal Omar Development Company, responsible for executing the Jabal Omar project located on Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street in Makkah.

Since 2020, FSA has been engaged in a $292.9 million contract with Qiddiya Investment Company, in partnership with Haif Contracting, to construct major roads and bridges on the upper plateau of the Qiddiya giga-project.

With a well-equipped team proficient in operating crushers, concrete & asphalt mixers, coupled with decades of industry experience, the company ventured into bidding for the Rua Al Madinah project—a large-scale development spanning 4.9 million sq m in the holy city of Madinah.

Among its completed projects are the implementation of infrastructure in Jazan for the National Housing Company, the water line project in Abha for the Ministry of Water and Electricity, and the completion of the Ring Road in Al Ahsa for the Ministry of Transport, valued at $58.5 million.
