Why Ronaldo won’t be debuting with Al Nassr club on Thursday, 5 January?

Christiano Ronaldo, the former United player has been banned by the English Football Association from making his debut for Al Nassr in Thursday’s Saudi Pro League game against Al-Ta’ee.

Ronaldo was handed a two-game domestic ban and a hefty fine by the English FA due to an incident involving a fan at Goodison Park in April. The 37-year-old player was found guilty of improper and violent conduct for slamming the fan’s phone out of his hands, according to reports.

Ronaldo was found guilty in November by the English FA, and was informed of the ban as he was set to play his first game today. Following the ban, Ronaldo will now serve the two-match ban from the Al Nassr club, which has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the five-time Ballon d’Or recipient.

What does FIFA say about the Ronaldo ban?

The ban was handed to him a day after his United contract was terminated by mutual consent. However, according to FIFA, he must still serve the domestic ban upon his arrival at the new club.

Ronaldo is likely to make his debut at the 21 January match against Ettifaq.
