KSA’s renewables infrastructure drive attracts strong momentum

KSA is accelerating renewable energy projects through major investments including the National Infrastructure Fund

Saudi Arabia is planning to invest $101bn in renewable energy projects by 2030, according to Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Minister of Energy

This has created a positive sentiment among industry experts, who also point towards how the kingdom is able to sustain and accelerate renewable energy projects despite its recent foray into the renewable energy sector.

Additionally, the National Infrastructure Fund (NIF), which was set up in 2017 with an investment target of $53bn, is said to further drive investments in renewables.

Accelerating renewable energy projects

With one of the largest stakes in transportation and related infrastructure in the last decade supporting the kingdom’s Vision 2030, businesses in this respect are aimed at increasing the nation’s non-oil revenue.

In line with this, the second edition of the KSA Infrastructure Summit 2022 will conduct a panel discussion titled “Driving the growth of renewables infrastructure” focusing on conversations around Saudi Arabia’s ambition to accelerate the energy transition.

Panellists will debate on the kingdom’s renewable infrastructure and its ambition to accelerate energy transition to reach Net Zero by 2060. Discussions on Saudi Arabia’s increasing contribution of renewables into the energy mix, as well as the nation’s aims for Vision 2030 will be hotly discussed topics.
