Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has commenced essential infrastructure work along Riyadh’s Western Ring Road as part of its $40bn (SAR155bn) development pipeline.
DGDA’s development projects will transform Diriyah into the largest culture and heritage city in the world, the company revealed in a statement.
Construction has begun along Riyadh’s Western Ring Road to enable the essential infrastructure works. DGDA, the developer of Diriyah Gate, said that Al Athar, Al Qaryah Al Khadra, and Northbound WRR Branch Road have been facing minor road closures since 15th July due to the work.
As construction progresses, DGDA has been making sure that any impact of the improvements on local residents and businesses is being minimised.
The works are instrumental in delivering DGDA’s established masterplan as part of its commitment to Vision 2030, which focuses on a responsible and sustainable transformation of the project.
Diriyah Square – the heart of the project
DGDA’s $50bn gigaproject which is scheduled to be open by 2024 will deliver a complete lifestyle offering; featuring leisure and entertainment, hotels, and places to work and live – all within an iconic destination. With construction well underway, scheduled to open in 2024 and situated 15 minutes north-west of Riyadh’s city centre, the heart of the project will be steeped in culture and heritage
