HRH Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and the Chairman of the NEOM Company Board of Directors, has revealed the development of the first luxury island destination in NEOM called Sindalah.
In a LinkedIn post published by NEOM‘s official page, it was noted that Sindalah will become “one of the most important projects supporting the Saudi national tourism strategy.”
HRH Crown Prince said: “This is another significant moment for NEOM and a major step in the Kingdom realising its tourism ambitions under Vision 2030. Sindalah will be NEOM’s first luxury island and yacht club destination in the Red Sea providing a scenic getaway to the Red Sea that will become the region’s most exciting and attractive tourism location.”
Earlier this year, in June, MEED reported that NEOM had given contractors until July 31st to submit bids for the main works package to deliver clusters 3-6 of the Sindalah Island site, including the construction of an ultra-luxury and an upper-upscale resort.
Sindalah’s official Twitter page noted that ” the luxury resort will be home to a world-class marina and yacht club, refined gastronomy and high-end hotels” and is expected to welcome guests soon.
Antoni Vives, the Chief Urban Planning Officer at NEOM comments on Sindalah
Commenting on Sindalah and its significance in Saudi Arabia’s tourism-oriented futute, Antoni Vives, the Chief Urban Planning Officer at NEOM noted: “NEOM is creating the land of the future, where we want to bring together the greatest minds and provide the best quality of life in the world. Sindalah sits at the center of this. It is also going to be a next-generation yachting destination.
“In fact, with the year-round pleasant climate, it will also provide a new yachting season. At the same time, we will be protecting and conserving the environment. Plus, this will be the first physical project in NEOM that opens. It will open to the public before the other regions – THE LINE, Trojena and Oxagon. Therefore, Sindalah will be a taste of what else is to come at NEOM, so it’s hugely important in the wider vision.”
