ABB E-mobility has supplied Saudi e-mobility solution provider, Electromin, with EV chargers for installation at 100 petrol stations across Saudi Arabia.
The Kingdom has announced the Saudi Green Initiative 2030, which aims to ensure that 30 percent of all vehicles in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, are powered by electricity. Significant measures are therefore being taken to expand the EV industry in Saudi Arabia through direct investments which are helping to create a more sustainable transport system.

Electromin, a part of the Petromin group, owns and operates a vast network of over 700 charging sites across the country. Tony Mazzone, Electromin’s Director of Energy & EV Infrastructure said: “This is the first phase in the rollout of EV charging stations throughout Saudi Arabia, which is significant to the national strategy, 2030 vision and beyond.
“According to studies, EV sales in the country will expand, with 1.3 million electric vehicles expected to be delivered in the next 8 years. Thus, we saw a need to establish an EV ecosystem in the region that provides a one-stop e-mobility solution for EVs while monitoring and maintaining the network of charging stations in a flexible and efficient manner.”
