Argentina won its spot at the FIFA World Cup finale match after their victorious 3-0 match with Croatia. Looking at the Lionel Messi-led team, it’s difficult to imagine how the two-time World Cup champions lost to Saudi Arabia, which was placed 51st in the FIFA men’s ranking.
However, Argentina’s coach Lionel Scaloni told reporters after its win over Croatia, that its 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia proved to be a turning point for them. Scaloni said that after their loss with Saudi Arabia, “we felt love and support from our fans, the entire country, our people, and that was amazing because it gave us the strength and energy that we needed to recuperate.”
