Like always, this week has been a busy one in Saudi Arabia’s construction. The sector has seen various players signing deals with their partners. This includes deals with different types of construction contracts, the most prominent of which are the following.
1. Dammam’s dry gas network contract
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy announced that Natural Gas Distribution Company (NGDC) has won the tender to establish and operate a dry gas network in Dammam Third Industrial City.
While the value of the contract has not been disclosed, the ministry added that it is focusing on establishing gas distribution networks in other industrial cities within Saudi Arabia to expand the use of gas instead of liquid fuels.
2. NEOM power generation contract
LBPKSA, a joint venture between the professional engineering services film Louis Berger Services and the KFB Holding Group, has secured a contract for the construction of the the floating industrial zone Oxagon within Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city NEOM.
Under the contract, LBPKSA will design, supply, and install a containerised diesel power plant for the Saudi Arabian Trading & Construction Company (Satco).
3. Gold processing plant contract
The Saudi mining company Ma’aden has awarded the Finnish industrial group Metso a two-year life cycle services (LCS) contract by Saudi mining giant Ma’aden for its gold processing plant at the Mansourah & Massarah site.
The project scope includes commissioning, ramping up and optimising the new greenfield site, covering both maintenance and plant operations.
