CW KSA Awards 2022: Shortlists revealed

The Construction Week KSA Awards is set to be hosted on 9 November 2022 in Riyadh

We reveal the shortlisted names in each category as Construction Week Middle East prepares to host this year’s Construction Week Middle East KSA Awards.

With 16 categories up for the awards, we are elated to celebrate the success, presence, and significance of the construction and engineering industry in the kingdom.

Here are the shortlists:

Health & Safety Initiative of the Year

The Health and Safety Initiative of the Year will go to the company – operating in the construction sector – that has delivered the best worker welfare initiative(s) in the Middle East.

The winning initiative will have contributed to the advancement of health and safety consciousness across all levels of the construction organisation, and demonstrated clear practical applications and results.

Hospitality Project of the Year

The Hospitality Project of the Year award will go to the project that demonstrates construction best practice, maintained an exemplary health, safety, and environment (HSE) record, met client requirements, and was delivered on time and within budget.

Commercial Project of the Year

The Commercial Project of the Year will go to the project that makes an important contribution to its surroundings, demonstrates construction best practice, and shows how construction techniques and technology have contributed to its success. Projects eligible in this category typically include those carried out for private-sector clients, such as office buildings, events venues, hospitals, malls, schools, and universities, among others.

Residential Project of the Year

The Residential Project of the Year will go to the project that has added significantly to its built environment – in terms of the quality of its design, build, its location and its fit with the surrounding area.

Infrastructure Project of the Year

The Infrastructure Project of the Year will go to the project that makes an important contribution to its surroundings, demonstrates construction best practice, and can show how construction techniques and technology have contributed to its success.

Projects eligible in this category typically include roads, bridges, airports, railways, and social infrastructure such as government-funded or– backed schools, hospitals, and similar not-for-profit facilities.

The winning engineer could be working in any part of the construction chain, from suppliers to contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants.

The Project Manager of the Year will go to the project manager who can demonstrate the greatest impact on a project or projects during the eligibility period.

The Rising Star of the Year will go to the individual who has demonstrated the greatest level of professional development and is somebody to watch out for in the future. We want to see how they have contributed to the business over the past 12 months and whether they have been noticed internally and externally for their progression across the construction industry.

The Construction Executive of the Year will go to the senior executive who can demonstrate the greatest impact on their construction-related business during the eligibility period. The winning executive could be a general manager, managing director, related deputy, or someone from a C-suite role.

Female Leader of the Year

From engineers to project managers, HR and sustainability champions to directors and
architects, as well as mentors and leaders, women are paving the road for themselves,
their peers, and young girls who aspire to build a career in construction and
engineering.

The Female Leader of the Year award will be given to an outstanding female achiever with a proven track record who has made a significant contribution to the construction industry in KSA.

safety, and environment (HSE) record, and showing signs of commercial strength and
growth during the eligibility period.
