According to Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, 20% of the infrastructure for the project has been completed. In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV from Davos, on the sidelines of The World Economic Forum, Al-Nasr stated that the project is on schedule to deliver infrastructure to the areas ready for construction.
He emphasised the project’s commitment to being a vital contributor to the national and international private sectors once the infrastructure is completed. Additionally, Al-Nasr views the NEOM project as an opportunity for financing and investment, which will demonstrate the project’s success.
NEOM has also released a progress film of its multiple sites, having moved up to the building phase with goals defined for 2023.
The video, in over a minute, briefly runs through real-life world footage of the large-scale construction happening across the regions, including THE LINE, Trojena, Sindalah, and Oxagon.
“We want to show the world that NEOM is really happening,” a release on the developer’s website stated.
Al-Nasr also commented on the progress, saying: “If we are to solve the challenges of tomorrow, we must face up to them today, no matter how difficult they may seem. At NEOM, we are addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity by bringing together a community of the brightest minds committed to reimagining what a sustainable future will look like in 20 to 30 years, and building it today.
“We are redefining the future now. NEOM is open for business.”
