GITEX Global 2022 kicked off today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with more than 5000 exhibitors and 2mn sq ft of exhibition space, with a notable increase of 25% year-on-year.
The 42nd edition of GITEX converges the most advanced companies and best minds to dive deep into the making of the Web3 economy, as it covers seven diverse technology topics across the areas of metaverse, a decentralised future of the internet, and a sustainable global digital economy.
The GITEX 3.0 edition features seven tech themes: North Star Dubai start-ups, Ai Everything, Future Blockchain Summit in association with VARA, Fintech Surge, Marketing Mania and two new launches Global DevSlam and X-Verse.

As part of its participation in GITEX 2022, the Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company (Tahakom) is showcasing a range of AI-enabled systems and solutions related to the fields of public safety and smart mobility.
Unveiling its unique “supercomputer”, Tahakom demonstrates state-of-the-art capabilities in dealing with big data that are used to address complex technical problems with ultimate accuracy and in record time, to help institutions and establishments to take better decisions and manage business efficiently and effectively.
The company is also showcasing various products in the field of public safety, such as crowd management, behaviour analysis, detecting the patterns of people and vehicles, and other technologies that contribute to raising the quality of life and enhancing the level of safety.
Ministry of Interior – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Under the slogan “Absher for a safe homeland”, the Ministry of Interior is participating in the GITEX GLOBAl exhibition.
Participating themes include the impact of “Absher” in achieving digital transformation at the level of the ministry of interior, enhancing security and reducing all forms of crime, including information crimes, enhancing civil and traffic safety, and services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, in addition to the ministry’s efforts to achieve sustainable development.
The five axes aim to highlight the successes and achievements of the ministry of interior in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, where visitors will have access to the new version of smart applications and electronic systems, which contributed to developing procedures and providing the best services.

Saudi Arabia to provide $53mn financial incentives over next three years
Saudi Arabia’s National Technology Development Programme has launched the “MVPlab” Initiative, and is expected to spend $53 million on tech projects to enable technology entrepreneurs to develop, accelerate, and kick off their projects.
The MVPLab initiative aims to launch 1,000 minimum viable product prototypes with the aim of transforming them into emerging technology companies by providing financial, knowledge and guidance support to beneficiaries.
The initiative has also partnered with The Garage, the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship, NAMA Ventures, SEEDRA Ventures, Rawahel, and BUNAT Ventures.
GITEX GLOBAL 2022 is running from 10 October to 14 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
