Nesma
A privately owned company with a business portfolio across multiple sectors in Saudi Arabia and a presence in the UAE and Egypt, Nesma Holding was established in 1979. Taking the third spot on Construction Week Middle East’s Top 30 KSA Construction Firms list this year, Nesma has been a major player in the development and diversification of the Saudi economy.
The contractor marked several milestones in the past 12 months. The water and energy arm of the company, Nesma Water & Energy, began construction on the Yanbu-4 and the Jubail 3B water projects, both of which are reverse osmosis, desalination projects incorporating solar energy to lower operational costs.
It also secured a second project in Bahrain, at the Madinat Salman (AMAS) and Ramli housing developments. The transmission augmentation project, which is being administered and funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, with over $25.9mn (SAR97mn) in value.
In December 2021, Nesma & Partners signed an MoU with Bouygues Travaux Publics to implement all civil and construction works at the first nuclear power plant in Saudi Arabia.
Alongside Saudi contractor Almabani, Nesma has made significant progress on the construction of airside infrastructure works for The Red Sea International Airport, having won the contract in 2020.
